Who we aren’t
Are we pro-life or pro-choice?
Okay, to be honest, we hate those phrases … mostly because they’re pretty lame and meaningless.
On one level, who the heck isn’t pro-life. Who doesn’t love a warm-sunny-day or getting a kiss-from-your-lover. It’s the same thing with the phrase pro-choice. We pretty much all believe that people should have the right to make decisions for themselves.
We all love life, and we all want the freedom to choose.
Our centre is really pro-information. We believe that you deserve honest answers.
We are not a religious-focused centre.
We should say, right off the top, that our little centre loves everyone. Period.
It doesn’t matter to us if you’re a religious person or not. It doesn’t matter what colour your skin is, what language you speak, or where you were born. We don’t care whether you’re straight or gay, or rich or poor, or whatever.
No matter who you are, we think that you deserve respect and kindness.
We are not just about the pregnancy.
Yeah, we have loads of free maternity and kiddos stuff and we run the amazing ‘Triple P’ and ‘Nobody’s Perfect’ parenting courses. But we also help with relationship peer counselling and personal issues. And even though it’s not our area of specialty, we keep up on all the information and referrals you’ll need about STIs and other related issues.
We are not just a peer-counselling centre.
We can help you out with all sorts of things including formula, diapers, and clothing. We get loads of stuff from businesses and people who love what we do. We suggest that you give us a call so that we can make sure we have what you need and can schedule an appointment for you.
We are not snitches.
We will not call Child & Family Services on you.
It’s none-of-their-business that you are at our centre. You have a right to try and work out your situation by yourself … with the family and friends that you want involved. We respect that right. Besides, no matter what you’ve gone through in your past, everyone deserves a second (or third, or fourth, or …) chance.
The only time we would ever have to call anyone like CFS is when someone’s life is in danger.
We are not going to preach at you.
Who wants that anyway?
You don’t like being lectured-at and neither do we. People try to lecture or preach-at-you when they think that they can try and change you by force or by some kind of coercion. We think that sucks.
You deserve honest information.
You deserve real true love.
You deserve respect.
